Thinking about buying an ipad......need help?
Would an ipad be ok for someone who is taking online classes?
Can you write papers on it?
Can you wirelessly print?
Is it better than a laptop?
Pros & cons (from people who actually pwn ipad)
Best accessories.
I am debating to buy one when I get my refund in a week or two. I am taking two classes in the summer.

IPADs are pretty awesome, I believe you Can wirelessly print on them and also write papers but if the main purpose of it for you is writing, then I think you should go with a laptop instead mainly because I think its easier to write with a keyboard than with tapping on a screen for say 600 words or many thousands of characters. Second reason: is laptops are more versatile and usable in more ways when it comes to the internet.
THE IPAD's DEFENCE:
It really small and Shiny!

Absolutely not. Have we all gone mad. Hopefully we can get back to important issues such as bringing children up to have respect and responsibility.

What's the Best Christmas Gift for $300 and under?
Looking for a Christmas gift for my 22 year old son, he's a mechanical engineer and likes electronics and gadgets etc. I've thought about anything from a high end radar detector, computer accessories or a cheap ipad competitor. I was just wondering what all is out there.
Already has xbox 360 with the latest shooting games, and specifically said he does not want any motion gaming.

Do Best Buy employees get spiffs for selling iPad screen protectors?
I was at a Best Buy tonight and told a sales rep that I wanted to purchase an iPad. He picked up a screen protector and told me I needed to buy one of those too. I let him know I wanted a leather case which doubled as a stand instead. Both were $50; part of the screen protector cost was from a Geek Squad installation fee.
The sales guy said "No, you're getting this," and held up the screen protector. Now, last time I checked Best Buy was not Radio Shack. I don't go to "The Shack" very often specifically because of their pushy sales associates. If I do enter a Shack, I mentally prepare myself for hostile encounters first. I was not prepared for such an encounter at Best Buy.
The guy proceeded to tell me stories about people who scratched the screens on their iPads with their keys. He told me the $15 fee would be the best $15 I ever spent. He told me his manager would yell at him if he let me walk out of the store without the screen protector.
I told him I would reconsider and would come back tomorrow. I think he thought that I was talking about the screen protector, since he headed to the back and climbed up a ladder but, uh, after dealing with a sales guy like that my wallet had firmly embedded itself deep within my pocket and was not coming out for anyone under any circumstance.
The guy said he did not receive commission for sales. So, my question: would he have received a spiff? Would it have been from the Geek Squad service?
Apple seems to be very accessory-happy, doesn't allow for memory upgrades, forces their customers into using proprietary keyboards and so on so I am wondering if perhaps this is something that Best Buy employees are trained to do only for Apple products?
admin answers:
They go for the upsale on everything. I detest Best Buy and will not buy anything from them for any reason.
