Questions About Ipad 2 Update To Ios 5

Nancy asks…

Does iOS 5 update affect Numbers saves?

Hi, I use my iPad 2 to create spreadsheets on Numbers for work. My documents are very important and they can under no circumstances get lost. I am wanting to update my iPad to iOS 5 but I'm afraid my work will get lost in the update. Does updating the OS reset everything or does it just upgrade the OS. Does backing up in iTunes save my spreadsheets in Numbers?

Robert asks…

iOS 5?? Didnt update?

I was updating my ipad 2 to iOS 5 but when i updated it, it didn't work. What do you have to do?? Its confusing, what did you guys do to get in working? Please use steps., thanks so much! (:

You do this:
1) Make sure you have the latest iTunes version. You need at least iTunes 10.5. If your content goes away, do this
1) Go to the iTunes Media Folder
2) Drag the iTunes Media Folder into iTunes
3) Your content should be put back into the new iTunes
2) Plug your iPad in to the computer.
3) iTunes may tell you that you have a new software update. If it doesn't, click the "Check for Update" button and it should let you update.
4) It will go through the process of updating.
5) You will have updated to iOS 5. It will ask you to set it up again, the way all new devices will too.
*You may be updating to 5.0.1 now that it is out.

Daniel asks…

Why can't I update to iOS 5?

Ok, so I two iPad 2's both running 4.3.5
I tried updating one of them to 5 but here's what happened:
Error 3194
Error 1604(I think that's what it was)
Stuck in recovery mode

I got it out of recovery but I still have the same errors when trying to update. HELP

Server overload.. Everyone's trying to download it now. I had the exact same problem 2 hours ago and then it worked as traffic slowed down. Try again in an hour or tomorrow

Joseph asks…

Do you have to restore to update to ios 5?

-iPad 2
-4.2.1

admin answers:

If you don't restore, all your data since your last restore will be lost. So yes, you should restore if you want to keep your new notes, pictures, apps, settings etc.
