With so many tablets out there swarming markets everywhere which is the best out there. Ipad 2, Motorola Xoom, Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, blackberry playbook?

Apple iPad 2. No question about it. Samsung Galaxy Tab's display is to small and blackberry playbook doesn't have a good app but is good if you have a blackberry smartphone because you can sync all your mail from your smartphone running os 6 to playbook. Whereas Motorola Xoom is just too bad. If you are getting iPad, get iPad 2. In the US, iPad 2 has the same price but in some countries, iPad 2 is cheaper than iPad 1.

I've researched a number of upcoming Honeycomb tablets. I've limited my attention to the 10.1" tablets and have the following list:
Motorola Xoom

Ases Eee Pad Transformer
Toshiba Tablet
Acer Iconia Tab 500

Each has the NVIDIA® Tegra 2™:1Ghz Dual Core Process and WXGA graphics (1280x768-800)
All have Wifi, Bluetooth, either HDMI or mini HDMI, front and rear facing camera (varying resolutions), SD or micro SD slot, Full or mini USB.
RAM ranges fom 512MB to 1GB and storage capacity on each ranges from 16GB to 32GB.
There's incomplete specs, but all should have at least accelerometer and gyroscope. Some have ambient light sensors, compass, etc.
Now, the important feature - network connectivity. All except the Xoom WiFi-only, Toshiba Tablet, and both the Asus tablets have some sort of cellular connectivity built in. IMO, that's going to hurt most tablets by adding costs for components. Perhaps subsidized carrier prices may help sales, but I, myself, cannot justify the expense when I can just tether the tablet to my phone.
I predict the 2011 Honeycomb tablet war winner will be: Asus!
I'd have never though I'd pick them, but their tablets look pretty good. Although the netbook craze is dying out, Asus made it work when the other PC manufacturers laughed (and then raced to play catch-up). They know how to deliver quality products at affordable prices.

However, this sleeve is a couple of inches larger than an iPad (either type 1 or 2) so your iPad will slide around inside it. Therefore, it is not an elegant solution.

There are countless attractive and effective iPad sleeves on the market; maybe one designed specifically for the iPad 2 would be more pleasing to use than this one.

Ok, so i updated my ipad to the newest version, 4.2.1, and apparently now insted of the screen lock to keep it from going into landscape view, its the sound lock, to keep it silent or not. So how do i change it back?

You cannot change the Screen lock using the slider on the side of the iPad.

To lock the screen hold the iPad in the orientation you want to lock then Double-Click the Home button and the multitasking interface will pop up. To lock the screen orientation swiping to the left most multitasking screen which will bring up a number of fixed controls. Tap the left most button, which is square with an image of a circular arrow inside it. A padlock will appear in the centre of the button. The screen orientation is now locked and an orientation lock icon appears in the status bar.

To unlock picture orientation just, double-click the Home button and the multitasking interface will pop up. Swipe to the left most multitasking screen and tap the left most button, which is square with an image of a circular arrow inside it and a padlock inside the circle. The padlock will disappear in the centre of the button, and you're done.

The iPad comes out exactly 6 hours from when i posted this answer. The iPad 2 is expected to be thinner, with a faster processor and more RAM. Its also predicted to have dual cameras, facetime and a larger speaker. It should have a few other small features, but until tomorrow morning(for me), nobody can be certain.

Well in stocks unless you invest a lot and I mean a lot of $ its gonna be hard to make hundreds in a month but stocks I would recommend are.

IDCC-this company could be bought out at any time, it sells now for around 40$ a pop but if bought out it is believed it would be bought out for around 120$ a stock, of course their is no guarantee this will happen it could happen tomorrow or it could never happen, even rumors about a buy though boosted this to 80$ one time though.

GS-This company weathered the recession just fine and are a safe bet to have some good returns

NFLX-this company made a huge mistake when they changed their financials but the stock has been hit as it should and is now trading low at around 60-70$ with good news this stock could be back up to 150-180 in a few months but with bad news it could drop to around 30-40

You need the internet yes but it will hook up to any open WiFi as for uses it is a digital book reader so you can read books without an actual book with you like the Kindle if you have heard of that it will also play videos, music, podcast, etc. Anything that a newer iPod could do. It will do the internet and has the ability to to download applications like a smart phone has a camera basically it is an iPhone without the phone calls or a netbook computer.

iPad Target 2 year warranty?

I bought my iPad at target not even 30 days ago. I have the 2 year replacement plan for when things get spilled etc etc. Since the new iPad 2 comes out march 11, if I took my iPad in afterwards, seeing how they stop selling the previous generations when the second one comes out, and that they are the same price, would I get the iPad 2 in replacement? I guess if they don't sell the 1st generation anymore, I would have to get the 2nd one, right? Or would they just ship it from an apple factory? I think, in the end, that would cost more than just the second generation.

A newer laptop would be a better choice and you could get them for around the same price of an iPad 2. Don't get me wrong tablets are fun. You should also look into Android tablets :)

I recently reset my wireless router. My ipad, Xbox, and XP pc can access the wireless perfectly. My 2 windows 7 pcs cannot. if my windows 7 pcs are connected directly to the router they work fine. I am completely baffeled.
the router is compatible, and has been working perfectly for months. this problem surfaced with the reset.

Redsn0w 0.9.6b5 crashes when fetching iPad baseband files?

Hi I recently bought an iPhone 3g. It arrived at my house on firmware 4.2.1 and with the baseband 05.15.04. I have tried installing the 6.15.00 iPad baseband from redsn0w, but whenever it says "fetching iPad baseband files" Redsn0w crashes. I am running Windows XP on my computer so I can't do the compatibility mode or run as administrator fix. I also made sure that I didn't try to install cydia and the iPad baseband at the same time and it still didn't work. Any help?

4.2.1 firmware
05.15.04 baseband
using redsn0w 0.9.6b5
computer runs windows XP
already tried compatibility mode, run as administrator, and installing cydia and baseband seperately.

Don't check cydia and iPad baseband at the same time.

If ur going to jailbreak just click cydia. Once jailbreak, redo the process, but this time do not check Cydia but check iPad baseband

I get down and worried about not having many material things, anyone in the same position?

im 33 and live in the uk...i have an obsessional disorder where i compulsively think i need to have a lot of material things in order to feel happy, stable and secure......but i live alone in a flat on sick benefits so i cant afford of most of what i want......im in no position to be employed either as im a danger to others because of violent rage problems.

i dont have an ipad, or ipad 2 , dont have an iphone or ipod , dont have a wii or playstation 3, dont have a digital camera or even a wrist watch....dont have a hd or widescreen television....i dont have sky tv.....dont have any other hand held gadget.

and dont own many other material things either.

my main possession is my custom built desktop computer that still runs xp pro.....im getting a blackberry phone for xmas from one of my family.

i have an old playstation 2 with a few games...an old gamecube with a few games...an old 2nd hand tv

and the other things ive told you i dont have...i will have to save up for for a long time..

i just wanted to know is anyone else in the similar position as me and how do you handle it?

To be honest, I wouldnt say this was an obsessional disorder at all I would say it is perfectly normal to feel this way. As we are growing up we are conditioned to want these things, and learn at a young age that material possessions equals security as well as respect. It is why we are encouraged to go to school, get a good job, buy a car, buy a house filled with lots of wonderful things. These possessions are what people use to define how successful they are in life, and because of this it is no wonder you feel down.

I know exactly how you feel too. When I left my abusive partner and moved into my new place, I had two black bags of possessions to my name most of them being scruffy clothes and makeup that needed replacing. I didnt have sofas, a washing machine or anything for ages just a bed and a portable tv. I graduated university last year and have been unable to find a job since, and have been living on £95 a fortnight dole money. So trust me when I say I know how you feel, wanting to build up your stuff with hardly any money is really hard. Take it from me though, it can be done.

I made it my lifes mission to own nice things and have the same as everyone else, and for the last year I have budgeted and penny pinched beyond belief in order to get myself the things I needed. I was lucky with some things, I had leather sofas given to me for nothing, and bought a very decent cooker off someone for just £20. I had to get a loan off the social for my carpets, but it is interest free- google budgeting loan to see if you are entitled to one too. Every spare penny I had I saved, and over the year have been able to get myself pretty much everything I need to live comfortably in my home as well as a new phone and laptop.

If you have good credit, catalogues can be massively helpful- I have a Very account and being able to get what you need and pay it back bit by bit has been a lifesaver. Also shops like Brighthouse are good for people in our situation- you do pay more back but it means you can have your item straight away and pay back a weekly affordable amount, you dont need good credit for Brighthouse either.

My best advice to you is to write a list of the things you want. Then SAVE every spare penny you can. Look on ebay for good deals, or places like CEX for second hand elecricals. You honestly can do it, speaking from experience just put your mind to it, know what it is you want to achieve and dont stop until you have

i know that verizon has the ipad 2 for $630 and apple has the ipad 2 for $500. whats the difference between the two and if there isn't one why is there a price difference?

Verizon or AT&T versions of the iPad 2's have the 3G internet plan, which allows you to use the internet wherever you are for a cost, while the Apple one is just regular WiFi. The reason there's a price difference PLUS the 3G bill is because the 3G model supports 3G I guess. By that I mean you can't get a 3G plan on a regular iPad 2 and you can't remove the 3G plan from a 3G iPad 2. I recommend the standard WiFi because of the cheaper cost and the fact that you really don't need 3G.

I live in Montreal, and I am saving for an iPad 2. I've been saving since may and have exactly 450$. How much more do I need to buy an iPad 2 16 GB?? The original price before taxes used to be 499$ but it is now 519$! :(( how much more do I need to buy the iPad? Plus taxes!!

Do the math...if you need to get to $519 and you have $450 you need ...$69 not that hard. And go find out the tax rate, move the decimal over left twice and then mulitply that by $519 and you will have your tax.

Will the iPad 2's WiFi work without the 3G card?

If I have an iPad 2, with 3G that I have ordered with an AT&T plan, will the WiFi work if I take out the 3G card? Or will it get locked? Because I want to use the iPad overseas for some time. And getting an unlocked iPad 2 would be out of my price margin. I hope I have made my question clear.

Well At&t is a GSM Network which GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications. Which means you can take it anywhere in the world. But if you are overseas then yes you could take the 3g Sim card out if there is no signal for a 3g network. Also your Ipad 2 will not get locked if you take the card out.

Hi! I was wondering if they would still sell the next version of the iPad at the same price as the iPad 2. I'm considering buying the latest version next year. I'll just be using it for web browsing and article reading and stuff. Is it possible that they may still be maintaining the same price?
