Found IPAD need help returing?
O.K. here is my story, but before I start I will do this first. STUPID! Reported I found a ipad to company lost and found. After 2 1/2 days the ipad was still sitting in the same spot I left it. I wanted to do the right thing and return the ipad to it's right full owner. Thinking I could do better I took the ipad home and figured I could contact the own. When I powered the ipad up, it was password protected. My son said he has seen on you tube how to bypass the password and gave it a shot. What he ended up doing was a factory reset of the ipad. Now I have know information about the owner.
I read online you could give the serial number to your local apple store and they could find the owner. When I gave the number to the manager on duty he said he knows who the owner is, you can return the ipad to the store and they would forward it to the owner. I return at opening the next day with the ipad in hand and tried to return it to the manager. The store manager thank me for what I was doing, but said they can not take possession of the ipad or tell me who it belong to, but to contact 1800myapple for help. When I contacted 1800myapple I talked to a manger he thanked me but said there is nothing they could do. They could not take possession of the ipad.
I'm really trying to the the right thing and return this ipad.I believe in Karma. I have no owner information, Apple won't help, and I can not take it back to work. Any ideas? Help.
Thanks for all the help. Was able to personnely turn it in to lost and found. Now maybe the person will be able to get there item back. Sad that Apple was not able to help.

Well there is only so much that you can do before it starts to become a waste of time.
Put up flyers and say FOUND Ipad, email or call (setup a cheap sim like pay as you go (if you have them where you are) so you can just throw the sim away after because you will get loads of calls), please give serial number of your ipad to claim it back.
They will probably be in or around the same place it was found.
You could also hand it into the police who will find the owner.

iPod touch will connect to wifi, but ipad 2 won't?
Lastnight my dad and I connected our wifi and we were struggling to figure out the password. Today, I figured out the password and tested it out on my dad's iPod touch. It is connected and I am able to surf the web on safari. But when I tried to connect my iPad 2 to our wifi putting in the same password , it came up as "Unable to join the network" and i tried so many times with the correct password but it still won't let my iPad 2 connect to our network. I tried resetting the network settings on my iPad but it still won't work. Helpp !
And the password ended up being the WEP key we created , does that mean I need to make another seperate one again ?

Your router may be restricted to 2 connections which would be your ipod and/or computer or any other devicesso all the bandwidth is taken up and their is not enough left for your ipad to connect try disconnecting your ipod and then connecting your ipad, if this works it is your bandwidth limit is low and i would ring you internet service provider and upgrade your internet to a better one. Hopefully ive helped

My iPad won't connect to the wifi. Any ideas on why and solutions?
My iPad won't connect to the wifi, after I put the password in it just says unable to connect. It works fine with my iPhone 4 (same os 4.2.1) I have tried resetting the network settings etc on the iPad and I have tried resetting the router but nothing I try seems to work

Some Apple gear is really strange when setting up WiFi.
Instead of letting it search for the network and only entering the password, go through the manual setup where you put in the network name, Encryption type and password.
I've found that works every time - I think they sometimes mis-detect the encryption in use on non-apple access points.
