Plugging new iPad 2 in instantly resets the computer - What to do?

My aunty just bought a new iPad 2 and registered and installed all the updates fine but the next time she connected it to her comp it makes the 'buh-duh' noise of recognising the device then instantly resets the computer. If we leave it plugged in to reload it just resets as soon as its recognised again. Also, plugging in her iPhone 4 which she's been using fine on her compiter for months has started doing the same thing. She's very upset and now wants to buy a new computer because she's not very computer literate and doesn't deal well with these sorts of problems. She doesn't have very much money and I want to fix it before she goes and buys a new one. I've rang apple and microsoft, uninstalled and reinstalled all Apple software (Quicktime, Itunes, Bonjour, Apple Mobile, Apple updater etc.) to no avail. Please help. P.S. She has windows XP

admin answers:

She may have purchased a cheap a** PC - most wouldn't do this - try de installing and re installing.

Maybe he PC just can't take it and she will need a faster PC that can keep taking this stuff constantly without getting so heated up it faints.

Chris asks…

Has anyone updated their iPad to the new version yet?

I got an iPad for Christmas and when I plugged it in, it said there was an update available (version 4.2 I think). When I tried downloading and updating it, iTunes would crash when there was only a few seconds left of the download. I've tried downloading it three times but I get the same result each time. I would really like to update my iPad, but I read on the internet that some people were having problems with the update. So, have you updated your iPad to the new software? Do you like it? Do you have any problems with it?

And lastly... does anyone know how I can fix my problem and update my iPad finally? Thanks so much.

admin answers:

I don't understand why you wouldn't update it, it allows mulitasking and folders.

iPad and iPhone question?

I have restored my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4 previously on my Acer aspire one it has 2GB of RAM and the processor is a Intel Atom CPU z520 and its 1.33 GHz it has 250GB of storage. iTunes downloaded both firmwares for both devices before they restored. Both devices i guess run fine i havent ran into serious problems but im just curious to know if this laptop is powerful or anything to restore my iPad 2 and iPhone 4, should it affect my devices in speed or in ANY way. I use this computer to do everything with my devices. The computer is slow but i dont know if that would effect my devices. Please let me know. Im just curious because im OCD about everything.

admin answers:

The power of your computer has nothing to do with the iPhone or iPad - each device has its own processor and the software is designed for the device. As long as you perform regular syncs with the computer and keep the software up to date you'll be fine.
