Selling iPad 2 on Craigslist...safety tips?

I'm meeting up with a guy from Craigslist today to sell my iPad 2 64GB + WiFi 3G, with some accessories. I'm selling it all for around $780.

I've sold stuff on Craigslist before, but generally not big ticket items like this..

I told the guy we can meet at the mall in the food court.

Aside from this, what other steps should I take to ensure this goes down safely?

I'm feeling a bit paranoid lol

If it's happening at a mall food court, you should be fine. Bring someone with you if you're worried. Maybe don't have your friend stand next to you. Tell your friend to sit at one of the tables and watch you. Also don't leave the same time as the guy does. Wait like 10 minutes, then walk out through one of the doors further away from the food court.

It would be best if you went with 2 friends.

Have 1 sit at a table and watch. Have the other stand with you. Then after the 10 minute waiting period, the one at the table could go to the car, start it up, bring it to the door, and you and your other friend could just hop in and leave.

And if you're REALLY paranoid, don't go straight home. Drive around, and maybe stop at a gas station or something that's isolated, so you can tell if a car is following you.

Michael asks…

Is the iPad 2 worth getting?

Ill keep this brief. Im thinking about buying the iPad 2 but i am not sure because Apple always seem to bring out a better product soon after i buy it. Plus, it will be my first Apple product, and i am afraid that i could get bored of the iPad 2. Any advice/tips?

admin answers:

Simple- Not at all.

Its a waste of money. Think of the iPad as a luxury product. Its not something anyone needs, its just there for people that have a sweet tooth for entertainment and electronics.

Apple releases a better product after the first one to milk people for money. Trust me. If they really wanted to, they could have included all the current model has into the first one.
Its all advertisement. Almost all of my fellow students have an iPod Touch because everyone else has one. No one needs it. Ipods are for music, not downloading mindless apps.
Apple releases a "better" version, and everyone buys the new one. Apple has released 3-5 models of the iTouch and at about $300 each. Do you know how much money they made knowing what i said?

With that said, the iPad is the same concept. You watch, iPad 3 will be around the corner soon...Whats going to stop them? They will make it.

So, No. Its not worth getting. Especially for its price. Might as well get a full blown desktop computer.

You dont need it. No one does.
Its up to you if you want it really bad.

Put it this way:
Music? IPod Shuffle, MP3 player, Even your phone can play music.
Games? DS, PSP, PS3, 360, Computer, your phone
Videos? PSP, PS3, computer, TV, Your Phone
Apps? Ipod, Your phone.
Internet? Computer, PSP, PS3, YOUR PHONE.

Point is, there are so many everyday electronics that could do the same things and more. And some are cheaper in price too. Some of these things you might already have.

My advice is to just put some thought into it and consider why you want it. There could be something else out there that you may want more and might need more.

Sharon asks…

i get 40$ a month and i want to buy an ipad can you give me tips on how to save?

I want an i pad how long would it take me to get one at $40 a month and if its over 2 years, god please, please, teach me how not to spend it and not to use it on stuff like candy or little stuff or loan it out

admin answers:

I have seen them for around $400 that means if you can manage to save all of your money for the next 10 months you should have enough to buy one (this is considering the fact that in 10 months the average Ipad will be far less than that $400 and you can pay the tax with the money you saved and have a nice day at the mall).

If you can't save it... Then ask your parents to take that $40 a month and put it in a savings account for you for the next 10 months and you don't get to touch it and therefore can't spend it.

Since that leaves you with no spending money you need to find a way to make money... Try buying a bag of Halloween Candy and selling the candy for a quarter a piece at school. If you do it right and not eat the candy yourself or give it away on loan you can make far more than the $40 a month you get in allowance. Just keep enough left over to buy the next bag and save the rest or spend it.
