Is there an apple app for a word processor that works on the iPad 2?

I went to the app store and tried to buy the iworks app and it said it wouldn't work on this ipad

There's a Pages version for the iPad. I think it costs $9.00 which is much cheaper than the version of Pages that runs on an Apple computer.

I never heard of anything Microsoft running on Galaxy Tab (google android!)

Try loading "Angry Birds on both tablets", only then you will notice Speed significance.

But with respect to your question, ipad2 has a larger sceen and you will not notice signicance in speed.
